Saturday 4th JULY 08h45 to 17h30 Venue: Dwarsvlei Farm, Middelburg, Eastern Cape BEGINNER FRIENDLY This year we will be hosting the 'Weaving Experience' again at the charming Dwarsvlei farm, home of the Karoo Winter Wool Festival in Middelburg, Eastern Cape. It is a full day of rhythmic meditative weaving - aimed at beginners. We want you not only to fall in love with creating fabric by interweaving threads but also have a completed woven item to take home after the experience. A maximum of 6 participants ensures personal help and teachings. You will weave a woolen fabric large enough to make a cover for a 40 x 40cm pillow~ a bespoke keepsake We will sew the fabric into a cover and provide the inner as well. This is a full day workshop with short break for lunch. We will have coffee and tea on tap. Lunch is for your account: As our weaving venue will be at the festival, you will have a choice of food stalls to choose from. Participants will be contacted early June, via Whatsapp with directions and venue details. This will be our 4th visit to the festival. We are excited and thrilled to be part of it and in this beautiful part of South Africa. Hope to see you there xx Rita Trafford and Tracy Gebers Workshop includes: ~ 300g of 100% double knit woolen yarn ~ a cotton covered 100% down inner ~ a choice of gorgeous colourways ~ all day coffee/tea and 'beskuit' ~ weaving on a Lojan Flex rigid heddle ~ guidance on tap all day ~ sewing up of your woven fabric into a pillow cover ~ a 10% discount Lojan voucher(valid until the 31 July 2026) does NOT include: ~ festival entrance ticket ~ lunch (~ a finishing and postage fee of R250 in the unlikelihood of you not finishing) CANCELLATION POLICY: This workshop is refundable minus a 10% cancellation fee if you cancel before 4th June 2026. No refunds will be given if cancelled on or after 4th June 2026.
