EMBROIDERY WORKSHOP 24 October 2026 9:30am - 3:00pm Originals Yarn Shop, BlackHorse Centre, Dorp Street, Stellenbosch Cost R950 Mosaic Embroidery is a form of decorative embroidery using wool, and with a thread stitch very similar to basketweave darning. It is great fun once you get the hang of it. This workshop will be taught by Dionne and Cathy of OhDarnIt! In this introduction to mosaic embroidery we will teach you the basic stitch used to create beautiful, colourful stitched designs. The workshop will take the form of demonstration and participation, in a nurturing environment. Our goal is to help you find joy in this wonderful practice of stitching. Included in the Workshop: • 1 wooden embroidery hoop. • A piece of linen fabric with the embroidery template drawn on ( choice of 3 designs). 1 x Japanese No3 embroidery needle. • 1 pack of a selection of 10 yarns of approximately 2m each (many colour choices available) • Use of a selection of yarns available on the day to use during the workshop. Morning refreshments, pizza and wine at 1pm. Participants are welcome to enjoy the deck and stitch till closing time - 3pm. • A selection of hoops, fabric with design templates and yarns will also be available for purchase on the day. Only 8 places are available and payment in full secures your spot.
