Service Description

LOG CABIN weaving Saturday 7th March: 09H00 to 17H00 Venue: The Studio, de Trafford Wine for the Intermediate Beginner. "Log cabin weaving is a color-and-weave technique that uses two contrasting colors in a plain weave to create a geometric pattern that looks like a log cabin quilt. The design is made by alternating between one color and another for both the warp (vertical) and weft (horizontal) threads, with the visual effect of creating vertical and horizontal blocks."* Sometimes only a gentle nudge is needed to try something new. This striking design is an immensely rewarding weave. Limited to 6 weavers maximum. Bring your own rigid heddle loom with 10dpi reed. You will set up the warp and begin weaving but will be finishing the weaving of the scarf at home. Once booked, you will be contacted via Whatsapp to discuss your project re its width, colours and quantity of yarn to bring along. The day is interrupted with a delightful lunch. Refreshments included. CANCELLATION POLICY: This workshop is refundable, minus a 10% cancellation fee if cancelled before 13th February. No refunds will be given if cancelled on or after 14th February 2026.
