A 3-day Weaving retreat in Stellenbosch

Thursday 3rd to Saturday 5th December Thursday 9am - 5pm; Friday 9am - 5pm; Saturday 9am - 4pm Venue: The Studio, de Trafford Wines, Stellenbosch level: for the confident beginner. For those that need to end the year in bliss. For those with a Rigid Heddle loom. Immerse yourself in 3 days of blissful weaving retreat on a wine farm in the picturesque Upper Blaauwklippen valley in Stellenbosch. Over 3 days we will weave a large enough sized fabric for a bag. A Log Cabin based pattern with yummy CowGirl Blues yarn. On day 2 we will weave straps for our bag on Inkle looms(provided by studio) and on day 3 we will sew and assemble (with expert help & supervision) our projects and then greatly admire them for the rest of the day. The cost excludes: 1. The cost of the Log Cabin pattern (An Etsy link will be sent to you) 2. The 2 yarn sets(fabric & band), hardware, the inner and leather base for the project=R1375.00 to be paid closer to retreat day. 3. Accommodation. Please message me for recommendations. Includes: Calm guidance; great teachers; working in a spacious studio; a charming farm environment; all snacks & coffee/tea breaks; delicious lunches WITH wine; a wine tasting on Saturday. A gorgeous completed practical bag to take home. A maximum of 8 places. Please note that you will have weaving homework on the first day of the retreat. CANCELLATION POLICY: This workshop is refundable, minus a 10% cancellation fee if cancelled before 31st October. No refunds will be given if cancelled on or after 31st October 2026.
