The Lojan Buddy DT combines the smooth spinning characteristics of the original Buddy with the comfort and rhythm of double treadles.
Designed for both new and experienced spinners, the Buddy DT features Dutch Tension, an improved version of Irish tension developed by Jan Louët.
The aerodynamic flyer creates gentle, consistent take-up, making it equally suitable for spinning fine lace yarns and bulky art yarns.
The spinning wheel includes four bobbins (approximately 200 g / 7 oz capacity each) and a built-in lazy kate integrated into the front post. Two bobbins can be mounted as standard, with space to expand to four when using the optional additional axle set.
The large 18 mm (¾") orifice allows a wide variety of yarns to pass through easily. A removable insert reduces the opening to 12 mm (½") for finer spinning. Five drive ratios (1:4, 1:6, 1:9, 1:13 and 1:18) provide excellent control for many spinning styles.
The Buddy DT is made from solid beech and beech plywood and is supplied unfinished, allowing you to apply your preferred finish if desired. Thanks to its compact footprint, integrated lazy kate and thoughtful design, it is an ideal spinning wheel for both home use and workshops.
