Lojan Drop Spindle
A compact, well-balanced drop spindle suitable for both beginners and experienced spinners.
The Lojan Drop Spindle is available in two sizes:
18 mm (¾") disc – approximately 23 g (0.8 oz)
25 mm (1") disc – approximately 29 g (1.0 oz)
 
Made from laminated beech with a bamboo shaft, both spindles are designed with most of the weight concentrated around the outer edge of the disc. This provides smooth, stable rotation and longer spinning times.
 
The spindle is supplied as a compact DIY kit that fits through a letterbox. It can be assembled either as a top whorl or bottom whorl spindle by mounting the disc at either end of the shaft. Simply sharpen the shaft with a pencil sharpener to create the tip.
