March already?!

Greetings from a very warm Stellenbsoch valley and hoping you are well as we head into March with speed and confidence.

Summer temperatures are definitively not over but the colours of the garden and vines are changing and even the sun seems to peeping behind the mountains a wee bit later in the mornings.

A small but enthusiastic workshop took place on Saturday and again some beautiful results and a fun filled day was enjoyed by all.

The new studio has me smiling each and every day. It is light & spacious and in the most beautiful garden - one can't help but be inspired.

Up coming WORKSHOPS

March . Thursday the 19th .

Eco-printing on silk. A full day day workshop 9am to 4pm. Create your very own silk scarf. A wonderful day in the countryside - always with a delectable lunch and yummy wines. Morning & afternoon tea, coffee and sweet nibbles and my guidance of course. R1650 per person.

April . Friday 17th to Sunday 19th .

A weekend in Montagu at Kogman and Keisie Guest farm. A full 2 day workshop at this charming guest farm. Eco-printing on silk & linen in the most beautiful quiet surroundings. Non participant partners most welcome.

April . Thursday the 23rd .

Dyeing Wool Naturally -

Be amazed at what pigments can be found in your garden. Limited to a maximum of 8 participants, we will be dyeing a collection of mini skeins with variety of dyes. You will also dye a 100g skein "a la speckled" (as in the pic) and yes we will learn about mordanting as well. All yarn is 100% Merino 4 ply sock yarn. R1350 per person. Inclusive of light lunch & refreshments. 10% off for those that have attended any of the previous workshops.

MAY . Saturday the 2nd . - a Sock Knitting workshop for beginners. Bring your yarn from the 'Dyeing Naturally' workshop and learn how to knit your very own pair. Easy and so rewarding. Some very basic knitting experience is essential and naturally soup & sherry will be on the menu. And lets not forget my well renowned carrot cake. Limited to 8 participants. R1150 (incl.circular needles & pattern) excluding yarn. There will be sock yarn available for purchasing. A full day workshop 10am to 4pm.

MAY .Thursday the 21st .

Cotton & Linen - this workshop is open only to those that have attended any of my previous printing on silk workshops. We will be creating a long table runner of beautiful hemp linen. You will also be asked to bring along an old cotton pillow case or 2 and you will turn them back into something lovely again.

R1550. A full day workshop including a wonderful lunch, wine & refreshments. Only 10 places available.
