This class is limited to 5 weavers. "Tablet weaving, also known as band weaving, is a traditional weaving technique that uses small cards or tablets to create colourful bands, belts, ribbons, and decorative strips. The ancient Egyptians already used this technique, and it has evolved over the centuries. The result is a strong, flexible fabric that can be used for clothing, accessories, and home décor. Band weaving is particularly popular due to its versatility and the ability to create complex patterns with relatively simple tools."* We will be tablet weaving with fine cotton yarn. The project will long enough for a few bookmarks or long enough for a 1m leash or strap. Bring your own Inkle loom and band weaving cards or purchase from my shop. When you book your spot do let me know in the message section if requiring an Inkle loom and or weaving cards. We will start with a brief chat and then begin setting up the warp on the Inkle looms. The warping is time consuming and will require some concentration. Saturday will be mostly relaxed weaving and will be interrupted with a delicious lunch and glass or 2 of de Trafford wine. You will be given full instructions on how to finish off your band at home. If you do complete the band before the end of Saturday then you are welcome to set up and start a new project on your Inkle loom. *Vaessen Creative Image by ladyelewys.carpevinumpdx.com CANCELLATION POLICY: This workshop is refundable, minus a 10% cancellation fee if cancelled before Thursday 22nd January.
