A Weaving Experience

Service Description

Friday 19th January : 13H30 to 17H30 plus Saturday 20th January: 09H00 to 17H00 Venue: The Studio, de Trafford Wines, Stellenbosch If you are curious and inquisitive about creating fabric, love yarn, love colour then this is for you. It focuses on balanced weave with no complicated pattern. The essence is to fall in love with the flow and rhythm of weaving and you will leave with a completed long scarf that can double up as a snood. Weaving is quicker than knitting and weaving a whole scarf in no more than 2 days is very achievable. You will be weaving on an Ashford Knitters Loom which is almost identical to a Rigid Heddle Loom. Classes are limited to 6 weavers maximum. Advise on where to further your weaving skills & purchasing of looms will be given should the weaving bug bite. Please note that we start on Friday 19th January at 1.30pm. We will set up the warp, prepare shuttles, hemstitch and will fill the day with much weaving. The day will end at 5.30pm . We will gather again on Saturday 9.00am to continue weaving and will finish the scarves at 5pm. The Weaving Experience includes the yarn which is 100% wool, use of loom, tuition, lunch on Saturday and all refreshments with nibbles on both days. I will be in contact with you closer to the time re colour choice options. CANCELLATION POLICY: This workshop is refundable, minus a 5% cancellation fee if cancelled before Friday 8th December 2023 . Thereafter a voucher will be issued that can be used within 12 months. No vouchers or refunds will be given if cancelled after Thursday 28th December 2023.
