A Weaving Experience

Friday 21st February : 13H00 to 17H00 PLUS Saturday 22nd February: 08H30 to 16H30 Venue: The Studio, de Trafford Wines, Stellenbosch If you are curious and inquisitive about creating fabric, love yarn, love colour then this is for you. It focuses on balanced weave with no complicated pattern. The essence is to fall in love with the flow and rhythm of weaving and you will leave with a completed long scarf that can double up as a snood. Weaving is quicker than knitting and weaving a whole scarf in no more than 2 days is very achievable. You will be weaving on an Ashford Knitters Loom which is almost identical to a Rigid Heddle Loom. Classes are limited to 6 weavers maximum. Advise on where to further your weaving skills & purchasing of looms will be given should the weaving bug bite. Please note that we start on Friday 21st February at 1pm. We will set up the warp, prepare shuttles, hemstitch and a little weaving. The day will end at 5pm . We will gather again on Saturday 8.30am for a full day of weaving and with great excitement will complete our scarves by 4.30pm ish. The Weaving Experience includes the yarn which is 100% wool, use of loom, tuition, welcome coffee light snack on Friday, lunch on Saturday and all refreshments on both days. CANCELLATION POLICY: This workshop is refundable, minus a 5% cancellation fee if cancelled before Friday 24th January 2025. No refunds will be given if cancelled on or after Friday 24th January 2025.
