Service Description
Friday 7th July: 13H30 to 17H00 plus Saturday 8th July: 10H00 to 17H00 Venue: The Studio, de Trafford Wines, Stellenbosch If you are curious and inquisitive about creating fabric, love yarn, love colour then this is for you. It focuses on Plain weave with no complicated pattern. The essence is to fall in love with the flow and rhythm of weaving and you will leave with a completed long scarf that can double up as a snood. Weaving is quicker than knitting and weaving a whole scarf in no more than 2 days is very achievable. I have invested in 5 Ashford Knitters Looms so please come spend some wonderful weaving time with me. Classes will be limited to 5 weavers maximum. Advise on where to further your weaving skills & purchasing of looms will be given should the weaving bug bite. Please note that we start on Friday 7th July at 13H30. We will decide on scarf colours, set up the warp, prepare shuttles, hemstitch and begin a few rows of weaving. The day will end at 5pm ish. We will gather again on Saturday 10am for a full day of weaving only interrupted with a brief casual lunch. The Weaving Experience includes the yarn which is wool(extra colours will be available at an small extra cost), use of loom, tuition, lunch on Saturday and all refreshments with nibbles on both days. I will be in contact with you closer to the time re colour choice options and a small what to bring list. CANCELLATION POLICY: This workshop is refundable-minus a 5% cancellation fee - if cancelled before Thursday 8th June. Thereafter a voucher will be issued that can be used within 12 months. No vouchers or refunds will be given if cancelled after Thursday 22nd June 2023.
